Case Study - Executive Presentation Skills
The Managing Director of the commercial banking division of a major UK bank wanted a two day up-skilling package for his board prior to a major leadership event.
It was a particularly challenging period for our client, who had recently merged with another major UK financial institution, and was firmly into the integration process. There were many leadership challenges facing the board of the commercial bank - not least how to inspire confidence in the senior management team, and the wider population of staff. We had a long standing relationship with the Managing Director of the business, spanning several banking roles, and so he was familiar with what we could deliver for his team.
We ran a two day package offsite for his board of six executives - which would specifically focus on the leadership event they had planned two weeks after the training. The aim of the training was to completely change the style of the presentations during the event, to become much more relaxed, authentic and empathetic talks - so that all levels of managers and leaders within the bank would really buy into the people and the strategy at the top of the organisation.
During the two days, we worked on bring up skill levels significantly - analysing outstanding presentations by global business leaders and drawing out best practice - then helping our client apply the right principles to their delivery style and their content. We restructured everyone's material and produced six 20 minute presentations which were truly inspirational.
