Case Study - Impact & Influence
We were asked by a leading UK retail bank to improve the practical influencing skills of their top 100 business leaders. We designed a bespoke coaching package.
The challenge for our client was how to deliver something "world class" to their people that would have a lasting legacy - and that would set the standard of leadership communication skills within the retail bank.
After several meetings with the Heads of Talent and Leadership, Learning and Development, we designed a 3 module learning package designed to take each business leader from the good to the outstanding level, in terms of their ability to engage, inspire and influence others.
Module1 was a full day masterclass, setting the bar and showing each business leader the levels of natural impact, engagement and authenticity which defines truly memorable and inspirational leaders. In essence, this day identified the capability gap - and showed people how to close it.
Module 2 was a series of half day coaching sessions for groups of 4 people one month later - where they practiced the application of the knowledge they had learned in day one. We created several role-specific scenarios (stakeholder briefings, executive pitches) which each person prepared prior to the day, and delivered with a video review of their performance, shared within the group.
Module 3 was a one on one coaching session, one month later -where we took the time with each individual to test and evaluate their performance and also to try and help with the reinforcement of their new skill levels in role.
This programme is ongoing - we run at least one programme each month for our client as we continue to work through the senior management of the bank, and now deliver follow up sessions to a number of executives who attended the programme over 12 months ago.
