Practical Networking
Being a confident and effective networker sets you apart from the crowd. You become more visible, always feel in control and will create more business opportunities than the average person.
However, a large number of professional people dread this vital activity, feel uncomfortable working the room and spend too much time talking to their colleagues. Consequently, they miss out on great potential business opportunities - or career advancement.
Our advice will help you increase your self-confidence so that you are more comfortable engaging with new people and enthusiastic about raising your profile
The practical networking module is designed for up to 50 people over 2 hours. The room is set up to simulate a "real" networking event (complete with refreshments) in order to help delegates get into role quickly and learn in a relaxed and realistic setting. We will show you, and practice you, in confidently working a room, so that you build sound initial contacts, develop rapport with target clients and identify potential opportunities which you can follow up.
The skills you will learn during the session are:
- planning an effective networking strategy, either as a host or guest
- meeting and greeting confidently to create a good first impression
- building rapport, trust and credibility when speaking to others
- asking commercially relevant questions in order to develop realistic opportunities
- working a room to maximise the time you have available
- following up effectively in order to capitalise on potential opportunities
